BST's revolutionary hi-performance ToughCoat^TM process serves as the highest quality beutifying masonry coating on the market. Precise color management, customized formulation, an unparalleled guarantee, and the flexibility to meet any hardened or glazed masonry color need only begin to describe this exciting BST ToughCoat^TM process. The BST ToughCoat^TM system is a low viscosity, water-based solution of Potassium Silicate, together with finely dispersed, low particle sized inorganic iron oxide pigments and Acrylic. BST ToughCoat^TM is non-toxic and non-flammable. The System is designed to preserve the appearance of the substrates to which it is applied, while correcting color defects and enhancing the existing surface. For this reason, BST ToughCoat^TM is specifically formulated to maintain maximum attachment / adhesion, not to hide the texture or appearance of the substrate and should not be confused with proprietary masonry paints and their associated maintenance commitments.

BST ToughCoat^TM is formulated to achieve a high degree of penetration. BST ToughCoat^TM will produce a film-forming coat and react chemically with the masonry substrate to produce an insoluble, microcrystalline silicate bond. BST ToughCoat^TM creates natural weather resistance by producing a semi-permeable membrane, which allows the masonry unit to "breathe".
